The axle position has also been relocated to improve the machine balance, ultimately making maneuverability easier. Plus, with the Auto-Turn steering system and interlocking controls, you’ll look forward to clearing snow, instead of dreading the chore. Ariens AX254 Engine: Built to perform in cold temperatures up to 2 hours. Plus, it’s equipped with a 120V electric start with recoil backup starting system. Auto-Turn Steering: Automatically senses change in in direction as you turn. Power is then adjusted to the inside wheel, making turning much easier. Molded Friction Disk: Fewer overall parts, easier to service, and more robust shifting. Re-balanced Machine: The axle has been relocated on the frame to improve balance and performance of the Auto-Turn steering feature. Disc-O-Matic Drive System: Smoothly shifts into 6 forward speeds or two reverse speeds. Cast Iron Gear Case: Durable in extreme conditions, delivering ideal power to the auger system to churn and throw snow. In-Dash Remote Chute/Deflector Control: Rotate the chute 200 degrees and adjust the discharge angle, both from the operator’s position. Interlocking Controls: Allows the ability to lock both handles, so one hand can be free to adjust chute rotation as you move. 16″ Snow Tread Tires: 16″ x 4.8″ directional snow tread tires provide necessary grip on hard packed snow.
